Galveston Ring Levee presentation

On Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6pm in the Randall room, 1st floor of the Rosenberg library at 2310 Sealy st., the Galveston Alliance of Island Neighborhoods will host a public presentation by the Galveston Flood Defense Coalition about Galveston Ring Levee concepts. A Galveston Ring Levee¬†is needed to protect Galveston City from flooding by hurricane winds pushing the bay’s water onto the north side of the island. It is a recommended component of the Coastal Barrier System because¬†flooding from Galveston Bay is still probable, even if the Coastal Barrier is constructed
